Dentistry is expensive in most parts of the world, and often viewed separately from medical insurance. While that is a whole issue on its own, that requires a systematic change in the medical world. Regardless of your budget or insurance status, taking care of your teeth is vital. This includes the gums. Homecare is your best defense, whether you can afford the dentist or not.
Your Smile is Your Resume
Like it or not, your smile is your resume. You need to take care of your teeth, and the gums they reside in. Oral health is important, and quite costly when you neglect it. I came across the Natural Dentist after an expensive and painful cleaning at the dentist. Since I went without health insurance for many years, the dental hygienist found a few trouble areas in my mouth indicating early gum disease. Despite being an avid flosser and mouthwash user, I required a “gingivitis cleaning,” which is more than a standard cleaning, but not as involved as a “deep cleaning”; which often requires anesthesia. Since I didn’t get to go under, I had to white-knuckle through the whole ordeal of scraping all the plaque out from under my gums. It was the most intense and painful experience of my life, not to mention over $700 out-of-pocket!
Since I realized my 5-in-1 whitening mouthwash was causing more harm than good, I began to look for alternative solutions. There was no way I wanted to experience such a cleaning again, especially since I was aware of the future consequences if I didn’t address the problem directly. That’s when I stumbled upon the Natural Dentist at a local pharmacy. I have found that the Natural Dentist is the best natural mouthwash on the market, and is effective in reducing bleeding gums. It has made such an improvement to my life, that I was compelled to do this write-up in order to help others.
Mainstream anti-bacterial mouthwash destroys the delicate bacterial balance in the mouth. It alters pH levels, drying out the skin, and can continue the growth of gingivitis. It can even cause mouth ulcers and increase the risk for oral cancer. [ Is Mouthwash Bad for You? Ask the Dentist ]

What Makes it Different?
One thing I greatly appreciate about this brand is its use of aloe vera instead of an alcohol solution. Aloe vera nourishes and heals the gums, where alcohols and peroxides can dry out gums. Unlike many of the harsher conventional brands out there, this one is not abrasive and doesn’t sting.
Straight from the bottle, The Natural Dentist promises their products: “are scientifically formulated using carefully sourced botanical, herbal and mineral ingredients. We will not use synthetic flavors, colors, or preservatives. Nor we will use alcohol or sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS). Synthetic ingredients are used in certain of our products when no satisfactory substitute can be found in nature that meets our formulation or therapeutic goals.”
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is a petroleum-derived chemical used as a foaming agent in many commercial cleaning and personal care products. The “tingling” sensation it creates makes you think “it’s working,” but is actually a mild irritant. If you already suffer from sensitivity or gum disease, it can worsen the conditions of the mouth.
Listed as “peppermint flavor” it is more of a cinnamon vibe, but still quite pleasant. If you are used to commercial brands, it may be a bit of an adjustment from their high-power mint flavors; which are made in a laboratory and contain none of its botanical benefits. You will find beneficial botanical ingredients not commonly found in mouthwashes, such as:
- Aloe Vera
- Echinacea
- Goldenseal
- Calendula
- Cinnamon
- Graprefruit Seed Extract
Compare that to the ingredients listed in common mouthwash, you can see why I prefer the Natural Dentist! Here at the Carrot Campaign, we give the Natural Dentist 5 out of 5 carrots!
Where to Find It?
I have been able to find the Natural Dentist sometimes at Walmart ($15.23) or Walgreens pharmacy ($7.99), but it’s always been hit-or-miss in stores. You won’t always find it in stock. Instead of being disappointed when your particular location doesn’t carry it, consider using the shop locator on The Natural Dentist’s website. The best prices I have found are on Amazon, single ($6.69) or three packs (under $20).
Conclusion
Remember, the health of the mouth is a window to the rest of the body. Bleeding gums should not be overlooked, and should be treated immediately to avoid advanced gum disease. Gum disease is not an issue isolated to the mouth, research has shown it can be linked to diabetes, cardiovascular disease, even erectile dysfunction. Do not let your inability to see the dentist leave you feeling powerless. Using Natural Dentist’s “Bleeding Gums” mouthwash is an important tool for your dental care arsenal.
